1 cup shortening
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup honey
2 cups whole wheat flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon shortening
1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2.Beat 1 cup shortening, the brown sugar and honey in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed.
3.Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
4.Roll half of dough at a time 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured cloth-covered surface.
5.Cut into 2 1/2 squares. Place 1-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
6.Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are firm.
7.Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
8.Melt chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon shortening over low heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth.
9.Dip the cookies into the chocolate and lay on parchment paper to cool.
10.Once the chocolate has settled, using a spoon, drizzle chocolate over the top to make a cool design.
